UCLA coaching candidates: A 30th FBS job is open
All signs point to one primary candidate to succeed Chip Kelly as Bruins coach.
Well, who saw that one coming?
Other than everyone, it appears.
Still, Chip Kelly voluntarily leaving UCLA to become Ohio State’s offensive coordinator is significant in that it is a power conference head coach opting for a play-calling job elsewhere at the college level.
Does that reflect poorly on UCLA? It could, although the situation between the school and Kelly seemed beyond repair and a parting of ways is likely best for both sides, especially since the Bruins don’t have to pay a buyout now.
So, who takes the UCLA job, ushering the Bruins into the Big Ten era?
All eyes will be on the Twin Cities in the next couple of days, which is why this list is shorter than usual.
