Penn State is set to sign a 10-year deal with Adidas as its apparel provider, sources told The Inside Zone, a partnership that is expected to be the most lucrative of any of Adidas’ collegiate agreements.

The move brings to end a three-decade Penn State relationship with Nike that traces back to the relationship between Joe Paterno and Phil Knight.

The Nittany Lions will begin wearing Adidas in 2026-27. They had been with Nike since 1993, which was also their first year as Big Ten members.

The financial details of both the new Adidas deal and the old Nike deal are not available, as Penn State is exempt from most open records laws.

The deal is expected to be publicly announced following Friday’s Board of Trustees meeting.

On3 first reported the switch to Adidas.
