Sources: 12 different Big Ten teams to play Friday night games on Fox, six to play two twice on Fridays
The long-awaited Friday night schedules are here, with nine Big Ten games and two Big 12 games moving off Saturday. Plus, news on the Mountain West Conference title game.
Fox will air Big Ten or Big 12 Friday night football games in 11 weeks during the 2024 season, sources told The Inside Zone, with six different Big Ten programs playing two games apiece on Friday nights.
Of the 18 schools in the first year of the newly expanded Big Ten, 12 will play a Friday night conference game. Six of those 12 schools — Michigan State, Oregon, Purdue, Rutgers, UCLA and Washington — will play two Friday night games, with one at home and one on the road.
Four of those six schools’ Friday night games will come against each other, while UCLA has a Friday game against Iowa (which has just one Friday game) and Rutgers has a Friday game at USC (just one as well).
The Oct. 25 Rutgers-USC kick is notable for its 11 ET start time. Every other Friday night kick time is schedule for 8 or 9 ET.
