1. Change is in the air
It’s July 1, which is always a banner day in college athletics.
And while there are no seismic shifts such as UCLA and USC to the Big Ten this year, there are a number of changes happening across the country to keep tabs on.
That’s what we’re here for.
Start with the new Pac-12, which officially welcomes in seven new schools, five from the Mountain West Conference: Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, San Diego State and Utah State. Texas State joins from the Sun Belt, too, while Gonzaga joins as a non-football member as it leaves the West Coast Conference.
Penn State headlines the apparel movers, as the Nittany Lions end their 33-year partnership with Nike to start anew with Adidas.
