It’s 100 days till the Sunday of Week 1 … which just got one extra juicy game.

1. Northwestern gears up for a new era

EVANSTON, Ill. — Like many, Northwestern will host official visitors this weekend.

And what the Wildcats can now show these prospects is a little different from what they’ve shown them in the past — or what any program can show recruits right now:

A brand-new stadium.

“One thing is very clear,” ‘Cats coach David Braun told The Inside Zone this week. “We will be playing in the best football stadium in the world. Period. That is without question.”

The $875 million new Ryan Field will make its official game debut under Friday night lights, as Northwestern hosts Penn State on Oct. 2.
