Is it possible to make such a hire at a place like Nevada? Would a new head coach have the proper kind of autonomy at a place where former coach Chris Ault is said to still have plenty of influence?

Bryan Harsin. The former Auburn and Boise State coach proved he could win big in the Mountain West, going 69-19 across seven seasons with the Broncos. His 9-12 mark at Auburn got him fired less than two full seasons in, but he is a much better fit in the MWC than the SEC.
