Ken Wilson is out after two seasons at Nevada. Second-year AD Stephanie Rempe comes from the Scott Woodward tree of big, flashy hires.

Is it possible to make such a hire at a place like Nevada? Would a new head coach have the proper kind of autonomy at a place where former coach Chris Ault is said to still have plenty of influence?

Expect head-coaching experience to be a priority with this opening.

Bryan Harsin. The former Auburn and Boise State coach proved he could win big in the Mountain West, going 69-19 across seven seasons with the Broncos. His 9-12 mark at Auburn got him fired less than two full seasons in, but he is a much better fit in the MWC than the SEC.
