Indiana — yes, Indiana — is your Big Ten champion
The Hoosiers shock Ohio State and shock the world, beating the Buckeyes at their own game and flipping college football on its head.
INDIANAPOLIS — Ryan Day made a pointed comment last week that got lost in the aftermath of Ohio State beating Michigan.
Speaking of his team’s grit in snowy conditions in the Big House, the head coach of the Buckeyes offered a rather casual exclamation point that suggested that his team played the game it needed to play, not the game it wanted to play.
“If we’re playing this game in an indoor stadium somewhere, it’s different,” he said last Saturday. “It’s different.”
Lucas Oil Stadium is indoors. It sits just 48 miles north of Indiana’s campus. And the Hoosiers football team that Ohio State faced inside this cauldron on Saturday night was not exactly the Wolverines team of last week.
Of that, Indiana made damn sure.
