Business filings lead to more questions about Connor Stalions' role with Michigan
Multiple LLCs filed in Wyoming have raised questions about the scope of Stalions' ties to the Wolverines.
One of the wildest stories in recent college football memory took yet another wild turn late Tuesday, leading to Michigan star running back Blake Corum saying that he had no business partnership with ex-Wolverines staffer Connor Stalions, that he was unaware of an LLC filed by Stalions with his name attached to it, and that he has an attorney looking into the matter.
Business filings in the state of Wyoming that came to light earlier Tuesday show that Stalions was business partners with Corum and one other individual, Connor O’Dea.
Stalions’ apparent side hustle as a vacuum salesman came to light earlier in the day, as the Wall Street Journal detailed a lawsuit that a local homeowners association filed against Stalions for allegedly violating bylaws by running a refurbishing business out of his home.
A former analyst with the Michigan football program who is at the center of the NCAA’s investigation into illegal sign-stealing, Stalions filed for two separate LLCs in the state of Wyoming in March of 2022, around the same time that he was hired by the Wolverines.
The first LLC — titled “Home Essentials Distribution,” filed on March 22, 2022 — was filed alone. The business name and listed address match an Amazon seller with 51 ratings and a 2.8 out of 5 seller rating.
The second LLC — titled “BC2 Housing,” filed on March 28, 2022 — was filed with Corum and O’Dea. All three people list the same address, for a property in Ann Arbor, Mich., that was purchased in March of 2022.
"My first time hearing about it was when I went out to practice," Corum told reporters Tuesday evening in Ann Arbor, according to the Detroit Free Press. "First of all, I have no business with him, I don't have any businesses with Connor or anything like that. But I'm glad whoever found it, whoever searched the web, was able to find that, I appreciate you.
"My attorneys are on it, definitely get that figured out right away, get my name taken off of whatever it is."
