Buffalo coaching candidates: A promising MAC job is open
This job has had peaks and valleys, but past coaches have shown you can win with the Bulls.
Yet another head-coaching domino has fallen in the wake of Nick Saban’s retirement, with Buffalo coach Maurice Linguist heading to Alabama to work on Kalen DeBoer’s defensive staff.
Linguist went 14-23 in three years with the Bulls, taking over at an inopportune time back in May of 2021. Still, Linguist led the Bulls to a Camellia Bowl win in 2022, and Lance Leipold before him led the program to a final AP ranking of No. 25 in 2020, marking Buffalo’s first finish in the AP poll. So you can win there, as difficult as it may be.
Who succeeds Linguist? Let’s take a look at some potential candidates.
