Another exhausting day at the office, another Michigan win

The Wolverines preach a blue-collar mentality. But where is the attention to detail?

CHICAGO — Sherrone Moore arrived at the podium and exhaled for all to hear.

“Oh man,” he said. “How about that one?”

How about that one, Coach?

Just how many more of these is Michigan supposed to take?

The Wolverines lost the turnover battle to Northwestern by five but won the game by two, 24-22. Kicker Dominic Zvada was carried off the field after a 31-yard walk-off field goal clinched the victory — appropriately landing in the Wrigley Field bleachers. Perhaps more importantly, the kick avoided a football catastrophe in Ann Arbor.

Somehow, Michigan is alive for a College Football Playoff spot. Ignore the eye test if you can. These Wolverines are 8-2. It has taken a five-point win over Purdue and a two-point win over Northwestern to get there, but the record is the record all the same.

Cue the Jesse Pinkman GIF from “Breaking Bad:”

“HE CAN’T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS!”
